In my opinion smoothies should be a part of everyones diet in one way or another, either as a healthy meal replacement, a quick go to snack, or a way to get in some added nutrients. 

Smoothies are easy to make and you can put together any flavor that you vibe with.

One of my favorite fruits to use in my smoothies is blueberries. Blueberries are lower in sugar then most fruits and are packed with antioxidants. Antioxidants help your body defend itself against free radicals that can cause the body harm. Blueberries are also high in potassium and vitamin C and they also have an anti-inflammatory affect.

You can find frozen blueberries in most grocery stores and a little goes a long way. I only use about 3/4 cup – 1 cup in one 16-20 oz smoothie. 

I want to share with you one of my favorite blueberry smoothie recipes so that you can also reap the benefits of this awesome fruit.

Easy Blueberry Detox Smoothie


1 cup Frozen Blueberries 

Handful Baby Spinach

1/2 Banana (peeled, chopped and frozen) 

1 tbsp. Chia Seeds

Unsweetened Almond Milk       



Throw all ingredients into a blender. Blend well until smooth. Pour into your favorite glass and enjoy!
